Our cake stand is made of a fine porcelain and decorated using cake decorating techniques--we make our clay into frosting and use a pastry bag and different decorating tip to get a luscious application of traditional cake-style embellishments. This cake stand measures 10" across at the top and 3" tall and is has a decorative shell border and lily of the valley flowers. It's glazed in Spring Pea, a cheerful green. We've shown it here with a loaf of sourdough bread, but it would work for an 8" cake on a 10" gold board (typical of what you can get from a bakery), as well as a 9" cake or a collection of cupcakes, pastries, etc.
